Concord Public Properties

Responsibilities include preventative and corrective upkeep for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Additional tasks for maintenance include flooring, painting, interior cleaning, and other custodial duties. Public Properties also performs snow removal for public areas (including the Concord Municipal Airport) and oversees renovation projects for public facilities.

Kimball Pool Renovation

A ribbon cutting ceremony at Kimball Pool was held on June 15, 2017 with Mayor Bouley and Councilor Kretovic in celebration of recent renovations. Renovations started at the end of last season in an effort to enhance safety, accessibility, efficiency, and appeal. The new fully rebuilt pool includes ADA accessibility that features a beach style ramp with zero-entry access, a new deck with increased floor traction and drainage to reduce accidents, improved energy efficiency with new lighting and filtration media, fresh paint, new lavatory fixtures, and gusher jets.

Maintaining the City of Concord’s public infrastructure, such as the pools, is crucial to the community’s development and growth. This project is the second stage of a multi-year commitment to upgrade all seven of the City of Concord’s community pools. Concord’s community swimming pools have officially opened for the summer as of Saturday, June 17th. Find more information about the community pools at www.concordnh.gov/pools.

Heating Conversion Project

Structuretone Group has been contracted for the heating conversion project at the Municipal Complex. Work will continue through the summer, with the new heating system ready in time for the fall season. The project will include the addition of a new boiler system in the lower level of City Hall, the installation of underground distribution piping, and the conversion of the remaining steam heating systems to a more efficient hot water arrangement. Most of this work will occur in mechanical areas of the six buildings on the property, but there will be occasional disruptions to the facilities. Staff will work hard to minimize disruptions as much as possible. Patience is appreciated as these upgrades are completed.
