Winter Youth Basketball Leagues


Concord Parks & Recreation offers winter basketball leagues for children ages 4 years old through 12th grade. Leagues are broken down by age/grade. We offer youth scholarships for Concord/Penacook residents.

We rely on volunteers to help with coaching teams. All volunteers aged 18 and over are required to pass a police background check and attend coaches' meetings on a yearly basis. The department pays for the police background checks.

If registered please attend all practice and games. If unable to make one please communicate with your coach ahead of time. All games and practices are held in Concord - no out of town travel.


The department offers preseason leagues for three age groups: ages 4-5, K-1 and grades 2+3, grades 4+5 and grades 6, 7 and 8.  Program runs early November to mid-December each year. Pre-registration required and limited space in the pre-season leagues.

Hot Shots & Jumpers Basketball (Ages 4 to 1st grade)


These co-ed basketball leagues will focus on the fundamentals of the game while introducing players to being part of a team. Teams will meet once a week on Saturdays. Practices will include fun and creative ways for learning a new skill.  Season begins in early January and pre registration is required and limited space in these age groups. These age groups fill up - register early.


Divisions 2 , 3, middle school and High School
(Boys and Girls leagues for Grades 2&3, 4&5, 6-8 and 9 - 12th grade)


The goal of this basketball league is to allow players to get out on the court and be active and have fun. Players of all abilities are encouraged to join. We want to provide the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of basketball while gaining positive social experiences, promote good sportsmanship and have fun in a supportive environment.  All games and practices are held in Concord for these age groups.  Season begins in early January and pre register is required before deadline.
 
All players should bring their own ball to practice.

Ball sizing is as follows: 
•Hot Shots and Jumpers: 27.5”                                             
• Girls Leagues: 28.5” 
• Boys Leagues: 29.5”
