The Concord Police Department reinstated its Motorcycle Unit in May, 2013. Historically, the Department has utilized motorcycles as a police resource to address crime, enhance motor vehicle enforcement activity, and to participate in community based events. However, in the early 1990's the Motorcycle Unit was phased out. Under the direction of former Chief Duval this Unit was reinstated and has been received with great enthusiasm.
The Motorcycle Unit currently consists of seven officers and is supervised by a Sergeant and a Lieutenant. The Department has two Harley Davidson Electra Glide police motorcycles.
