[ARCHIVED] Everett Arena Activities Suspended

Arena Notice - Activities Suspended

The Douglas N. Everett Arena has closed its doors to the public as of October 15 under advisement of the State of New Hampshire’s COVID-19 reopening task force.

Governor Sununu gave a coronavirus response update on October 15 suspending all ice activities at indoor arena facilities for a two week period due to concern of recent reports of COVID-19 outbreaks in the state linked to ice hockey. The break on activities is intended for arenas to put additional safety measures in place, to clean and sanitize facilities, and give players and their family time to get tested.

The State’s reopening task force released a draft of new guidelines on October 22 and later had a meeting that day to review these guidelines with public comment. An amended draft has been sent to the Governor and the Department of Health and Human Services for review. Guidelines are anticipated to be finalized soon. Once guidelines are finalized, an announcement will be made regarding any changes at the Everett Arena.

There have not been any known COVID-19 cases linked to the Everett Arena. The Everett Arena has been exceeding all state and federal guidelines for cleaning and sanitization, and will also be implementing a new screening kiosk to provide touchless temperature taking.

The Everett Arena is committed to public safety being the first priority. Hockey, stick practice, and public ice skating are anticipated to return on October 30. Visit www.concordnh.gov/arena for future updates.
