Concord High School students have organized a Black Lives Matter protest and march in Concord beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 6. The Concord Police Department and the City of Concord are working with organizers to coordinate the group’s route and safely escort them during the event.
There will be no parking on North Main Street from Loudon Road to School Street and Park and Capitol Streets at N. State Street beginning at midnight on June 6. Park and Capitol Streets will also be closed during the event. The Concord Farmers’ Market will still occur as planned, but attendees should take note and find alternative parking areas.
Traffic disruptions are expected between 1 and 2 p.m. in the following areas. Motorists are asked to avoid these areas if possible:
• Beginning at 1 p.m. the group will be beginning at Memorial Field heading to Clinton Street, to McKee Square, to South Street, crossing Pleasant Street to Green Street, to Capitol Street, ending at City Plaza and the State House.
• Around 3 p.m. the group will be heading west up Centre Street, down Westbourne Road, to Warren Street, to S. Fruit Street.
