Building Safety

The Building Safety Division reviews and accepts plans submitted with building permit applications for code compliance.  Permits for building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire plan review, demolition, and signs are issued.  We perform the necessary inspections and issue certificates of occupancy when sufficient verification of code compliance has been documented.

Our office also administers the City of Concord Property Maintenance Code and coordinates the activities of the Building Board of Appeals, as well as the Demolition Review Committee.

Please be advised that the City of Concord Code Administration is OPEN and still accepting and processing Building Permits as well as trades applications and we are performing site inspections for unoccupied locations.  We do not anticipate any issue with meeting the time frame provided in RSA 676:13, III as contemplated in the Governor Sununu’s Emergency Order No. 23 at Section 6(c).  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the office at 225-8580.  If your call goes unanswered, please leave a voice mail and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.  Your business is very important to us, and we are keeping the process going.

Please note that for habitable buildings, we are either on site or by FaceTime, Google Duo or other video phone calls.  We are communicating via mail, phone and email.

Most forms are available on the City's new Citizen Self Service (CSS) Permit Portal.
