Are you ready for UBN Round 2? Read 50 books that fit in our new categories to complete the challenge!

Is your nose always buried in a book? Is there a giant stack of books on your nightstand? Do you say things like, “so many books, so little time” or “just one more chapter”? Are you on the hold list for the next book of all your favorite series? If so, you just might be a candidate to become an…ULTIMATE BOOK NERD!

Q: How do you officially become a card-carrying Ultimate Book Nerd?

A: Read 50 books that fit our challenge categories between January 1 – December 31, 2023.

The Details:

• Teens and Adults: Read one (1) book per category.

• Kids 12 and younger: You are part of U12 Ultimate Book Nerds. You have your own book categories. 

• Audiobooks, e-books, and graphic novels all count.

• You must have a valid Concord Public Library card to participate!

Registration:  

You must be registered to participate in this program. Use this link to sign up and we will send you your reading logs via email. You may also register in person and pick up printed copies of the reading logs.

Q: Where did this awesome idea come from? 

A: Friendly public librarians from the great state of Idaho who were gracious enough to share their brainchild.

Q: Do the books I read for UBN, count toward my summer and winter reading goals or 1000 Books Before Kindergarten? 

A: Yes! Since this is a year-long program, you can count them for other programs/book challenges as they come up.

Q: What if I need book suggestions/recommendations? 

A:  Librarians are standing by—ready to help! Ask us in-person or by Email for ideas, view our UBN book carousels at the top of this page, or check out our online reading recommendations webpage.  Adults--you might also want to come to our monthly program, Books and Brew, to chat with fellow book lovers and ask for suggestions.

Q: What do I do when I finish? 

A: Let us know! Bring in your reading log.

Q: What happens at the end of the year? 

A: All UBN finishers will receive amazing swag! Keep your eyes peeled throughout the year as we reveal the finishers’ prizes.
