CITIZEN’S POLICE ACADEMY

The Academy is a 10-week program taking place one night a week beginning Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Applicants who are accepted can expect an informative session examining all the duties of the Concord Police Department. The program will consist of classroom instruction, demonstration, and trips to other organizations who are involved with the department and community. Applicants will also have the option to participate in a police ride along, and/or a sit-in with our dispatch center.

During the Citizen's Police Academy, the participants will be exposed to the glamour and excitement they associate with police work, along with the processes that are less glamorous, but vital to the day to day function of this agency.

Upon completion of this course, it is our hope that not only will they have a better understanding of our profession, but they will have an interest to contribute to your community by volunteering.

All interested applicants must fill out the application that can be found here.  Please note that a limited background check is required.
