Filing for Office

Notice of Filing Period 

Municipal elections within the City of Concord are held every two years. The next municipal election will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. Interested parties wishing to file for municipal office, Mayor, City Councilor, or Ward Official for the November 7, 2023 Municipal Election may do so from September 8, 2023 through September 18, 2023. Candidates wishing to file by petition have until September 22, 2023 to do so. Filings are taken at the City Clerk's Office.

The filing fee to run for Mayor or City Council member is $5. The filing fee to run for a ward official position is $1. Filings are accepted at the City Clerk's Office during the noted filing period,  The City Clerk's Office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with extended hours until 6:00 p.m. on Thursdays. The City Clerk's Office takes filings until 5 p.m. on the last day of filing.

Filings are taken for:

• Mayor: Two-year term
• Ward Councilor: Two-year term
• Councilor-At-Large: Four-year term
• Ward Moderator: Two-year term
• Ward Clerk: Two-year term
• Supervisor of the Checklist: Six-year term
