CIP19 - Loudon Road Corridor Improvements Construction
October 27, 2017 Update:
Next week, the contractor will continue with sidewalk and driveway work. Some minor traffic delays may occur

October 20, 2017 Update:
With paving and line striping completed this past week, final sidewalk ramp connections will be paved next week during daytime work hours. Some minor traffic delays may occur.

October 13, 2017 Update:
Pike Industries completed finish paving of Loudon Road this past week. Paving of driveways and sidewalk areas will continue into next week, including pavement striping and crosswalk signal improvements. We expect the project to be complete in the next two weeks.

October 6, 2017 Update:
Final wearing course pavement was completed this week.
Next week, side streets, driveways, and remaining sidewalk sections will be
paved during daytime working hours. Final pavement striping is scheduled for
the latter part of next week.


September 29, 2017 Update:
Nighttime work continues next week. Beginning on Sunday night, through Tuesday night, Pike
Industries will be paving Loudon Road. Final pavement marking will follow on Wednesday and Thursday nights, weather permitting. Traffic will be limited, at times, to one lane in each direction.
Delays are to be expected.

September 22, 2017 Update:
Both daytime and nighttime work is expected next week, as sidewalk and curb ramp construction, and adjustments to utility structures within the roadway are completed. Minor traffic delays are expected.

September 15, 2017 Update:
Work continues along Loudon Road, including construction of driveway, sidewalks, and tip downs. Day time outside lane work continues through next week. Minor traffic delays are expected.

September 8, 2017 Update:
Next week, the contractor will pour concrete handicap ramps, set ramp curbs, and perform any related patching.

September 1, 2017 Update:
Work on Loudon Road continues next week with daytime curbing, sidewalk, and driveway modifications. Temporary lane closures will result in limited traffic delays. Work will not take place on Labor Day, Monday, September 3th, due to the Labor Day holiday. 

August 25, 2017 Update:
Daytime work on Loudon Road continues next week. Curbing, sidewalk, and driveway modifications will result in temporary lane closures and limited traffic delays.

August 18, 2017 Update:
Work will continue next week with daytime curbing, sidewalk, and driveway modifications. Temporary lane closures will result in limited traffic delays throughout the workday. While Loudon Road feels quite smooth following base pavement and shimming, final wearing course paving remains to be completed after the curb, sidewalk and driveway modifications are finished.

August 11, 2017 Update:
Sunday night, 08/13 through Thursday night, 08/17, crews will mill and pave the curbside lanes. The entire roadway will be shimmed by the end of the week in anticipation of daytime work starting the week of 08/21. Traffic delays are expected.

August 4, 2017 Update:
Overnight pavement improvements are expected to continue through the week of August 7th. Expect pavement milling and filling along the curb side lane from the eastern limits of the project (D’Amante Drive end) to East Side Drive. Traffic delays are expected during the work.

July 28, 2017 Update:
On Wednesday night, August 2nd, The City’s contractor, Pike Industries, will be milling the pavement on Loudon Road, from #249 Loudon Road (Stove Barn) to #204 Loudon Road (Goodwill). On Thursday night, they will mill the pavement from Goodwill to East Side Drive. Work hours will be from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Traffic delays are expected.

July 19, 2017 Update:

Please be advised that construction on Loudon Road is scheduled to begin on the evening of Sunday, July 23rd and continue through September 1st (weather permitting).

Pavement improvements along Loudon Road between Hazen Drive and D’Amante Drive include alternating day-time/night-time construction.  Major paving operations will be completed overnight typically between the hours of 7PM to 5AM, while curbing and sidewalk improvements will be completed during day-time work hours typically between the hours of 7AM and 5 PM.  Traffic delays will be expected during the work.
