CIP#85 - Water Main Replacement - Cross Street, Allen Street, Rolfe Street and Rockland Road
September 16, 2016 Update

Next week, Rolfe Street will be prepped for paving to occur Wednesday or Thursday. Temporary water will be installed on Rockland Road with residential services being hooked up mid-week. The new water main installation will begin toward the end of the week. Traffic will be restricted to local traffic only.


September 2, 2016 Update
Work will continue on Rolfe Street, Court Street and Allen Street as listed below. 

August 26, 2016 Update
Next week, the contractor will be installing the water service connections on Rolfe Street and performing testing. Traffic will be restricted to local residents only. On Court Street, the contractor will be paving driveways, installing curbing, and replacing sidewalks. Minor traffic delays are expected. On Allen Street, the contractor will be installing the sidewalk and handicap ramps.

August 19, 2016 Update
The contractor will be installing the water main and service connections on Rolfe Street next week. On Thursday, 8/25/2016 starting at 7:00 PM, Merrimack Street will be closed to through traffic, as the contractor will be tying in the new water main. Paving of driveways, installing curbing, and replacing sidewalks toward the end of the week is scheduled for Court Street. Minor traffic delays expected. The contractor will also be installing sidewalk and handicap ramps on Allen Street.

August 12, 2016 Update
The contractor will continue installing the water main on Rolfe Street. Traffic will be restricted to local traffic only. On Court Street, the contractor will be paving driveways and installing curbing toward the end of the week. Minor traffic delays expected.

August 5, 2016 Update
Next week on Court Street the contractor will be raising structures and paving them in. Minor traffic delays anticipated. Temporary water has been installed on Rolfe Street and the new 12 inch water main installation will begin next week toward the Penacook Street intersection. Traffic is restricted to local traffic only.

July 29, 2016 Update
The contractor will be paving Court Street on Tuesday, August 2nd, which will be open to local traffic only, with detours in place. Rolfe Street will be reclaimed on Monday, August 1st, and throughout the week, temporary water will be installed. The contractor will be installing the new water main on Rolfe Street until mid-September.

July 15, 2016 Update
On Court Street, the contractor will continue to install the new water main through mid-week then begin to hook up individual services to new main. Traffic will be restricted to local access only. On Allen and Cross Streets, driveways will be paved and disturbed areas loamed and seeded.

July 8, 2016 Update
A scheduled water main shut down will occur Friday, July 8th at 6:00 PM through Saturday, July 9th 6:00 PM on North State Street from Centre Street to Court Street. Residence and businesses have been notified. North State Street will be closed to through traffic during this time. Seek alternative routes.

Court Street – SUR Construction West will begin installing the new 8 inch water main on Monday. This will continue for the week and traffic will be reduced to one way east bound. 

Cross Street – The water main installation is complete and the crew will be raising manhole covers and final site cleanup.

June 24, 2016 Update
On Allen Street, domestic services will be connected to the new water main. Allen Street will be prepped for base pavement to occur on Thursday. Expect localized traffic delays. Temporary water hoses will be set up on Court Street next week. Court Street will be reclaimed later in the week pending Liberty Utilities completing the gas main upgrade. During this process, Court Street will be closed to through traffic. Staff is coordinating ingress/egress with the County Court Complex.

June 17, 2016 Update
Water Main Replacement Project North State Street, between Centre and Chapel Streets and Court Street – A public informational meeting will be held on Tuesday June 28, 2016 at 6:00 PM at City Council Chambers located at 37 Green Street. 

The 8 inch main will be installed on Allen Street next week. Localized traffic delays. Cross Street is complete.

June 10, 2016 Update
The first half of the week the contractor will remove the temporary water on Cross Street and prep the road for base pavement. Temporary water will be installed on Allen Street and the pavement removed. On Thursday residents on Community Drive (between Allen Street and the day care) and Merrimack Valley Middle School will be out of water from 9 AM to 5 PM. On Friday, 06/17/16, the contractor will start laying water main on Allen Street. This work will continue over the next few weeks with localized traffic delays.

June 3, 2016 Update
The contractor will complete the installation of the new water main and will be active toward the end of the week. The road will be graded in preparation of base pavement. Traffic disruptions will be isolated to Cross Street.

May 27, 2016 Update
On Tuesday, May 31st, Cross Street will be closed from Summer Street south to the end, while the contractor begins the installation of a new 8-inch water main at the intersection of Cross and Shaw Streets. Traffic will be detoured to Steeple View . This work will require the water to be shut off on Cross and Shaw Streets from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Tuesday. The remainder of the week will focus on installing the new water main on Cross Street, between Shaw Street and the park.

May 20, 2016 Update
The contractor, SUR Construction West, Inc.. will be removing material from the Abbott Road Recycling Facility and transporting it to the staging area at the Tannery site on Canal Street. This work will occur Monday, May 23, 2016 through Friday, May 27,2016 from 7:00 AM until 4:30 PM. We anticipate 2 trucks every hour hauling material from the Abbott Road site. The contractor will be responsible for keeping the road clean and dust to a minimum.
