July 1, 2016 Update
Over the next few weeks, the contractor will be putting the finishing touches on this final phase of the corridor project. Activities will include paving driveway aprons, loaming and seeding, pavement striping, and addressing any punchlist items. Traffic will be alternating one-way with minor delays to be expected.

June 24, 2016 Update
Top course of paving on Village Street (Route 3) from Fisherville Road to Stark Street will take place next week. This paving is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, weather dependent. Traffic will be alternating one-way with the possibility of major delays to be expected.

June 17, 2016 Update
This past week, the contractor placed the top course of pavement on the sidewalks and tied into the driveways. They also continued with raising of structures in preparation of final paving of the roadway. Next week should bring about the completion of raising of structures along with touch up of the loaming in the grass panels. Final paving is anticipated for the following week. Traffic will continue to be alternating one-way with minor delays to be expected.

May 13, 2016 Update
Next week, on Route 3 in Penacook, the contractor will begin to raise the frames for manholes and catch basins in preparation for the final paving operation. This work will take place over the next several weeks. On Monday, the signal contractor will be working on the traffic signal at the Manor/Borough Road intersection. Traffic through the work zone will be one-way alternating and commuters can expect minor delays.

April 29, 2016 Update
This past week, the Manor Fire Station driveway was base paved and some curb repair work was completed. Next week, the landscaping crews will plant street trees along the corridor. Commuters can expect minor delays through the work zone.

April 15, 2016 Update
This past week, the contractor repaired a portion of the sewer main on Fisherville Road, along with a section of drain on Village Street. Next week, the work will be off the roadway while repair work is completed at the Manor Fire Station driveway. Commuters can expect minor delays through the work zone.

April 8, 2016 Update
Work at the intersection of Fisherville and Manor Roads will begin on Monday April 11th, replacing a deep section of sewer main. In order to complete this work safely, Manor Road from Fisherville to Welch Street will be closed to all traffic, including emergency vehicles. A detour will be established for commuters utilizing Manor Road. Some additional sewer and drain repair work will continue throughout the week. Commuters can expect minor delays with alternating one-way traffic through the work zone.

April 1, 2016 Update
The 2016 road construction season is upon us. The finishing touches to the Route 3 corridor will commence on Monday, April 11th. The contractor will begin their work at the intersection of Fisherville and Manor Roads replacing a deep section of sewer main. In order to complete this work safely through the intersection, Manor Road from Fisherville Road to Welch Street will be closed to all traffic, including emergency vehicles on April 11th (weather dependent). A detour will be established for commuters utilizing Manor Road. Route 3 will remain as one-way alternating traffic through the intersection. Other work to be completed over the next several weeks include the planting of street trees and final paving of the roadway, sidewalks, and driveways. This work is anticipated to be fully complete by mid-July. Commuters can expect minor delays with alternating one-way traffic through the work zone.

December 4, 2015 Update
The contractor has completed the majority of the work for the 2015 season on Phase 6 of the Route 3 Corridor project. This past week brought the loaming and hydro-seeding to completion, as well as the base paving of the sidewalks and driveways. The signalization at the Manor/Borough intersection, along with a new Hawk beacon at the Manor Fire Station, was also installed. Next week, the remainder of the punchlist items will be completed and the contractor will be done for the season. When they return in the spring, the finishing touches will include top paving of the roadway, sidewalks, and driveways; and the installation of the street trees.

November 25, 2015 Update

Sewer and drain manhole inverts continue to be built as the contractor begins wrapping up for the season. Installation of curbing is complete and the sidewalks and driveways have been paved with the base course of pavement. Loaming of the disturbed areas should be finished by the end of next week, as well as guardrail installation over Hoyt Brook. The contractor will conclude work for the season in the next week or two.

October 23, 2015 Update
Final drainage work for the project has been completed. Rebuilding of the road box has begun and will continue into next week. This work will impact Beede and Allen Streets. It is anticipated that Beede Street will be closed for the day on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week; and Allen Street will be closed on Thursday or Friday. Road closure notices will be posted prior to closure. Also next week, fine grading and base paving of Village Street will occur, from Penacook Elementary north to the cemetery. One-lane, two-way traffic will be maintained through the work zone.

October 16, 2015 Update
Pavement markings along Fisherville Road and Village Street were painted this past week. Drainage work from Hoyt Brook heading north along Village Street continues into next week. Also next week, rebuilding of the road box will begin in the area of Hoyt Brook, heading north. This will take approximately 2 1/2 weeks to complete. Over the next few weeks, in the area north of the Manor/Borough Road intersection, sidewalks will be built, as well as some loaming and seeding of the disturbed areas. One-lane, two-way traffic will be maintained through the work zone.

October 9, 2015 Update
Bicycle lane markings along the Route 3 corridor were installed this past week. Drainage work from Hoyt Brook heading north along Village Street continues next week. Also next week, the pavement marking and striping is anticipated to take place in the area of Village Street, from Fisherville Road to Abbott Road, and from Stark Street to Coral Street. Over the next few weeks, north of the Manor/Borough intersection, sidewalks will be built, as well as some loaming and seeding of the disturbed areas. One-lane, two-way traffic will be maintained through the work zone.

NOTE - Access to Woodlawn Cemetery: Beginning immediately, until late November, access to Woodlawn Cemetery will be via Lilac Street due to road work occurring along its frontage.

October 2, 2015 Update
Drainage work continues from Hoyt Brook heading north along Village Street. Next week, the pavement marking/striping crews are anticipated to be out next week in the area of Village Street, from Fisherville Road to Abbott Road, and from Stark Street to Coral Street. In addition, bike lane symbols will be placed along the entire Route 3 corridor, from Penacook Street north to Winsor Avenue. Next Friday, water main work will occur on Village Street at Stark Street and at Allen Street. All affected residents will be notified in advance. Over the next few weeks, curbing will be set and sidewalks will be built north of the Manor/Borough Road intersection, as well as some loaming and seeding of the disturbed areas. One-lane, two-way traffic will be maintained through the work zone.

September 25, 2015 Update
Installation of the final section of drain work, from Hoyt Brook heading north along Village Street, will continue into next week. Sidewalks on the Fisherville Road section have been base paved and are ready for the addition of the concrete panels to be poured. Next week, the pavement marking/striping crews are anticipated to be working in the area of Village Street, from Fisherville Road to Abbott Road; and from Stark Street to Coral Street. In addition, bike lane symbols will be placed along the entire Route 3 corridor, from Penacook Street north to Winsor Avenue. Over the next few weeks, north of the Manor/Borough Road intersection, curbing will be set and sidewalks will be built, in addition to loaming and seeding of the disturbed areas.

September 18, 2015 Update
This past week, the new road box reconstruction was completed from Snow Street toward Hoyt Brook. Fine grading and paving of this 1,200 foot section of roadway was achieved as well. The contractor completed the water service valve replacements that were required and installed a hydrant. The next section of drain work began, from Hoyt Brook heading north along Village Street, and will continue into next week. Over the next few weeks, curbing will be set and sidewalks will be built, as well as some loaming and seeding of the disturbed areas. One-lane, two-way traffic will be maintained through the work zone.

September 11, 2015 Update

This past week the new road box reconstruction progressed north from Snow Street toward Hoyt Brook. Several water service valves were replaced during the week as well. Next week, road box reconstruction will continue, along with the start of the drainage work from Hoyt Brook area heading north. One-lane, two-way traffic will be maintained through the work zone.

September 4, 2015 Update
This past week, the old concrete road bed between Hobart and Snow Streets was removed and new drainage completed. The new road box construction began in the vicinity of Snow Street toward Hoyt Brook. Road box reconstruction over the next 1,500 feet of road will continue into next week. Water service valve replacements will also take place. One-lane, two-way traffic will be maintained through the work zone.

August 28, 2015 Update

This past week, replacement of the sewer main in the vicinity of Hobart Street, which included four service connections to the new main. Sidewalks were prepared for paving and curbing was secured with asphalt patch on the Fisherville Road section. Some water work was completed including the replacement of a service valve and a new hydrant. Next week, the remainder of the old asphalt and concrete road bed between Hobart and Snow Streets will be removed and new drainage installed. New road box reconstruction will also begin from Snow Street heading towards Hoyt Brook. One-lane, two-way traffic will be maintained through the work zone.

Drainage work on Village Street will continue next week between Snow Street and Abbott Street, in addition to the installation of the new sewer run at Hobart Street. One-lane, two-way traffic will be maintained through the work zone. Delays can be expected during construction hours.

This past week, the contractor completed the curb work along the Fisherville Road section of the project and continued drainage work from the Hoyt brook area heading south on Village Street. Efforts were also begun to raise the manhole/catch basin frames to the new pavement grade on Fisherville Road. The next section of the asphalt and concrete road bed was removed between the intersection of Abbott Road and Hobart Street. Drainage work on Village Street will continue next week from Abbott Road south towards Snow Street. One-lane, two-way traffic will be maintained through the work zone and minor delays are expected during construction hours.

This past week, the contractor reset the curb along the Fisherville Road section of the project and completed the first 500’ of drain work from the Hoyt Brook area heading south on Village Street. Drainage work will continue next week from Abbott Rd south toward Snow Street. One-lane, two-way traffic will be maintained through the work zone and minor delays are expected.

This past week the contractor completed the drainage work at Snow Street, replaced four valves on the 14” water main and removed the asphalt and concrete road bed in preparation for drain work. Drain work on the next section of roadway will begin next week with the installation of a headwall and a new drainage run from the area of Hoyt Brook heading southerly on Village Street. One lane, two way traffic will be maintained through the work zone. Commuters can expect delays during construction hours.

July 24, 2015 Update
This past week, the contractor reconstructed the road bed and base paved the limits of work at the intersection of Borough and Manor Roads, and along Fisherville Road. Next week, utility work will continue, as well as drainage and water main work. On Monday, drainage work at the intersection of Snow and Village will take place. Snow Street will be closed at the intersection of Village Street and will be available to local traffic only from Welch Street. Tuesday and Wednesday, water main valve replacement work will occur on the 14” water main on Village Street, from Borough Road to Stark Street. Mainline drainage work from Hoyt Brook, south to Snow Street, will begin at the end of the week and into the following week. Access to local businesses will remain open during construction. Commuters can expect minor delays with alternating one-way traffic through the work zone. 
 
On Wednesday, July 29th, from 7 AM to 7 PM, the City and contractors will replace four main line valves on the 14" water main located on Village Street, from Borough Road to Stark Street. As a result, there will be no water service from 7 AM to noon to residents and businesses on the west side of the road, between Borough Road and Penacook Elementary School; and from noon to 7 PM from Penacook Elementary School to Stark Street. All those who will be affected by the shutdown have been notified. Some water customers in the Penacook area may experience “dirty water” during this time. This is normal due to water in some of the smaller pipe networks having to flow in the reverse direction to meet demand. This will stop as soon as the water main is put back in service. If you have any questions regarding this scheduled shut down, please call the Engineering Services Division at 225-8520.

July 17, 2015 Update
Drainage Work
This past week, the contractor completed the Fisherville Road and Borough Road drainage work. Next Week, full road box reconstruction will take place, along with base paving of the roadway and trench on Fisherville Road, including the Borough/Manor Road intersection. On Monday and Tuesday, the Manor Road leg will be closed to all traffic during working hours for the rebuilding of the road box through the intersection. A detour will be established using Welch and Snow Streets. Access to local businesses will remain open during construction. Commuters can expect minor delays with alternating one-way traffic through the work zone.

July 10, 2015 Update
The contractor has completed the Fisherville Road sewer main installation just south of the Borough/Manor Road intersection. The installation of drainage has begun and will continue next week in the area as well as the removal of the asphalt and concrete bed in the intersection. Access to local businesses will remain open during construction. Commuters can expect minor delays with alternating one-way traffic through the work zone.

July 2, 2015 Update

This work will continue into next week. Access to local businesses will remain open during construction. Commuters can expect minor delays with alternating one-way traffic through the work zone.

June 26, 2015 Update:
This past week, the contractor continued with the Fisherville Road sewer main installation, just south of the Borough/Manor Road intersection. This work will continue through next week. Commuters can expect minor delays with alternating one-way traffic through the work zone.

June 19, 2015 Update:
The contractor began the Phase 6 roadwork with the removal of the asphalt and concrete roadbed on Fisherville Road, just south of the Manor/Borough Road intersection. Installation of a new sewer main also began in this area and will continue next week. Commuters can expect minor delays with alternating one-way traffic through the work zone.

June 12, 2015 Update:
S.U.R. West will begin with pavement and concrete road bed removal on Fisherville Road, beginning at the Borough/Manor intersection and heading south for approximately 300 feet. Commuters expect minor delays with alternating one-way traffic through the work zone.

June 5, 2015 Update:
Rainy weather earlier this week and delays related to the installation of traffic control signage has delayed the start-up of the Route 3 road work. Construction should commence the week of June 8th, beginning with the installation of construction signage and raising of manhole covers in preparation for final paving of Village Street from Coral to Stark Street (beginning the week of June 15th). Commuters can expect minor delays with alternating one-way traffic through the work zone.

May 29, 2015 Update:
Phase 6 construction is scheduled to commence next week, beginning with the installation of construction signage and raising of manhole covers in preparation for final paving of Village Street, from Coral Street to Stark Street. Commuters can expect minor delays with alternating one-way traffic through the work zone.

May 22, 2015 Update:
Next week, the contractor will be mobilizing and setting up the road sign package in advance of the Phase 6 work (Borough Road to Stark Street) which will also begin June 1st. Two way traffic will be maintained along this section of the corridor. Minor traffic delays may be encountered.

May 15, 2015 Update:
The contract for the final phase of the reconstruction of the Route 3 corridor, from south of Borough Road to Stark Street, has been awarded to S.U. R. Construction West, Inc. of Winchester, NH. The contractor will be mobilizing the week of May 25th, with construction commencing on June 1st.
