Penacook Village
History of the District
The Penacook Village TIF district was enacted in 2010. This 47-acre TIF district was created to incentivize redevelopment of the former Allied Leather Tannery Site, the Rivco Site at 77 Merrimack Street, and other smaller parcels in Penacook Village. The district is approximately 44 acres.

To date, the TIF helped finance reconstruction of Crescent Street and Canal Street, including utility improvements, sidewalks, and gateway signage. It is anticipated that the Penacook Village TIF district will play an important role in the financing plan for additional improvements, including a new riverfront park, to encourage redevelopment of the remaining portions of the former Allied Leather Tannery site.
