The
City of Concord retained the firm of Copley Wolff Design Group, Landscape
Architects and Planners, to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of White, Merrill, Garrison, and Rollins Parks.
The City also retained Groundwork Concord to conduct a comprehensive
evaluation of Kimball Park. The end
product is a plan for each of these parks with a prioritized list of
maintenance actions and improvements, together with estimates for the same that
will guide City operations and capital investment.
The planning process is being conducted in cooperation with the City’s
Recreation and Parks Advisory Committee and is being managed by the City
Planning Division.
In 2009, City of Concord Staff conducted a comprehensive review and evaluation of Terrill and Kiwanis Riverfront Parks, in an effort to produce a concept plan for concurrence by the Recreation and Park Advisory Committee and ultimate approval by City Council. The consensus concept plan along with engineering cost estimates will guide City capital planning and operations. The design development process included representatives from Planning, Engineering, General Services, Recreation, and City Administration.
