The Concord Police Department is a member agency of the Central New Hampshire Special Operations Unit (CNHSOU). This unit is a regional law enforcement team made up of police officers who receive specialized training from some of the top law enforcement agencies in the country in SWAT Tactics, Critical Incident Management and Crisis Negotiations.
Since the team is regional it works operates similar to fire departments mutual aid systems, where communities assist each other in an emergency. The team responds to an array of situations which include, high risk warrant services, hostage rescue situations, barricaded individuals, and potentially armed suspects. In addition, the unit is called upon for crowd control, dignitary protection, and assistance with the search of missing persons. The team is comprised of operators, negotiators, drone operators, medics, and a sniper element. The unit has a wide variety of equipment available to them including incident command vehicles and a Lenco Bearcat.
